Women in the news.....

Here in Britain we still have a legacy of the class system where the Queen dishes out honours, such as knighthoods to people for ‘public service‘. Largely the people honoured are political hacks and industrialists who have already have distinguished themselves by serving themselves as opposed to the public. Each year the ‘tradition’ becomes increasingly discredited, and the powers that be try to bolster it up by including people that have real popular appeal. They did it with the Beatles which didn’t go down to well at the time. This year Annie Lennox has been included in the awards for her work fighting Aids and poverty in Africa - an award long overdue. Annie bless her has responded by saying: “I’m getting my fake leopard pillbox hat dusted and ready.” Actually I think she looks better in these hats, what do you think Mons?
