Lazy Sundays!!

I am doing a good deed today and I am making a traditional Sunday Roast. I've been out and purchased all the relevant ingredients to make this a quite satisfying meal. It's one of those meals that I think people rarely have now. Finding the time is difficult and families are strewn across countries if not continents. It was always a good memory of my time as a child when mum would cook Sunday lunch and we'd sit around the table and be a family. It is a rare occurrence in our house but something we are instigating on a monthly basis. My repertoire will be stretched !! (no that is not a euphemism for something else!!)

I thought I would share my menu with you:

Starter: Haggis with tatties (we're not together for Burn's night so I thought I'd be a little adventurous with starter. Oh and I forgot the neeps!!)
Main Course: Free range roasted chicken with ratatouille and leftover tatties (always resourceful --- and I make a mean tattie!!)
Desert: As we are on a diet I bought a few choccies to share so no extravagant pudding

Wine will be white or rose depending on the mood or might even be both. I am sure we will have a cheeky port with the choccies to round off the meal. I was also thinking of booking some lap dancers to add the final classy touch to the evening --- not sure if that is appropriate ??!! Well all I need to say is bon appetit and I'll see you all on the other side when there's leftovers for Monday's evening meal.

This looks yummilicious, Ali, and as monthly family tradition sounds like a wonderful recipe all around! Thank you for sharing! :)

What time for leftovers?

Left over lap dancers or food Mary??

One can always be fed by the lap dancers as the lap dance would then last longer :-)

Could depend on what you are eating Mary.

Quinnie, it looks like the chook is about to dance. Or was that just me?

Haggis is a really underestimated food - and one of my great favourites. McSween's is my personal favourite - just the right amount of pepper and also great fried in slices for breakfast. I prefer the humanely slaughtered haggis which shows less stress than the battery haggis which is kept in close confinement and not allowed to forage as, as we all know, your free range haggis does. The haggis is a difficult wee thing to breed since both ends look similar and confusion can arise. If in doubt, sumon a haggis-sexer for immediate resolution of any misunderstandings.
