For Sammie

This post showcases one of the truly great Americans Pete Seeger, who is admired widely around the world when it comes to championing the cause of the working man. Here, he sings about the plight of Welsh Miners. Sadly, he was treated particularly cruelly in his own country when it went through the madness of McCarthyism.

Thank you so much Saffron. He is indeed a legend among "folkies" and "old folkies." Listening to my dad tell Pete Stories from attending various peace marches, civil rights marches, working man rallies and yes even womens right marches, I made the trek several years ago to his hand made cabin in upstate New York on the Hudson River. He actually came out to meet our group though in his late 80s at the time. A truly remarkable man and an icon for all of us to follow. Thanks again, Saffron
