Cyndi Lauper "True Colors"
In 2007 Cyndi launched the first True colors music tour an annual musical event to spread awareness and empowerment. Earlier this last year Cyndi helped create the Give a damn campaign in order to bring a wider awareness of discrimination of the GLBT community as part of her true colors fund. this campaign encourages straight people to stand up with the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered community to stop discrimination.

I am not all that familiar with her music,but will check it out. She did do a good song, called " I drove all night " which has been covered by various artists. Thanks for the post.
