Ok so I'm spending Xmas without my small child for the first time ever. Which feels a bit weird and this time last year I was on a beach in Oz enjoying a Summer Xmas. How quickly things change in a year. Both mums are arriving despite the best efforts of mother nature and family bereavements. So here we have two people -- that's me and G -- having our first Xmas together. I am really looking forward to it and despite the reservations of one of the mums regarding our relationship -- I'm sure once she spends more time with us she'll see that it's a bit more real than the man in the red suit. I'm cooking and we have enough wine to fill a lake in North America. From my point of view it is a Xmas where I am being myself, at last, and long may it continue. I won't divulge what I have bought G but safe to say she will enjoy it ;).
To you all a Merry Xmas and hopefully a prosperous New Year as well as good health and happiness.
My favourite Xmas tune of all time is The Pogues featuring the late great Kirsty Maccoll - Fairytale of New York. I can't be arsed to follow Tyke's instructions for embedding -- I prefer to bed :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwHyuraau4Q spot the cop !!

Merry Christmas Alie, to your and the lovely Ms. G. I'm so happy you two will have time together, and as much as you will miss the sounds of your son's padding feet, I'm sure some "girl time" will be a wonderful replacement. I can't wait to read your column on how to create a holiday Mixer for two Lesbians and their lovers.
Wait... wasn't that a Lit Room at one time?
Being very original tonight -- Merry Christmas to you Alison and also to Ms G. May you both enjoy the season and all the blessings of the New Year.
May you have a humble welcoming Christmas, and a jolly new year:)
Merry Christmas and I hope you have a wonderful New Year ahead!
