The website I have selected for this week is Girliebooks which can be found HERE
Essentially Girlebooks is an ebook resource for classic and contemporary works by female writers. The site was founded by Laura McDonald and her mother Joyce McDonald with lots of help by volunteers and contributing bloggers.
Although the site owners enjoy books by both men and women they lean to the view that in general women's most loved and re-read books are books by other women. Furthermore, as historically women authors were not always as recognised and promoted as they are today, they specialise in looking for excellent but forgotten books that deserve a wider audience.
One of the big plusses of the site is that the ebooks which are either available free or for a small nominal cost are hand-crafted and professionally formatted into multiple ebook formats to accommodate most readers. All their ebooks, even the ones in the ebook store, are DRM free (no digital rights management). This means that once you have downloaded the ebook, it is yours forever, no matter what ereader you use to read it. More than we can say for some e-book stores.
They have a wonderful selection of e-books and come highly recommended.
