Ask Auntie Jill

Hi!
I’ve been an on-line chatter for about ten weeks. I’m in my late 20s and I have a close chat friend who is in her early 40s. We get on really well but lately she has taken to talking about her daughters a lot which somehow doesn’t seem appropriate. Once or twice recently she’s asked me to rp somebody considerably younger than I really am. Should I be concerned?
Worried.

Dear Worried

This is a common enough problem in chat. Perfectly normal-seeming 'women' (I use the inverted commas because one suspects that some of these alleged females have rather more in their knickers than is seemly) can suddenly introduce themes which disturb those of us who have a natural distaste for the illegal, immoral and downright disgusting. Their aim is, during the opening stages of a relationship, to engage you then lead you gradually to accept that taboo subjects are increasingly less revolting. This path can lead to such practices as eating homity pies, wearing open crotch knickers and reading victorian novels!

My advice, and here I am for once being totally serious, is to make it plain to your correspondent that anything involving children is not only illegal but utterly disgraceful. If it is 'her' fancy then let her indulge with another like-minded pervert, preferably on an island inhabitted by the gestapo. Should you be concerned? Only if you feel inclined to pursue her fantasy with her. Please also remember that it might not be a fantasy and that you might become involved in something you'd really regret. It is so easy to walk away from this stuff. So get your walking boots on!
