Today is "Janmashtami" the day when Lord Krishan was born. It is celebrated all over India but in the grandest scale in the western state of Gujarat. The day is celebrated by having Dahi Handi everywhere. You can see in the video the rope has a small clay pot ( Handi) filled with buttermilk (Dahi) and human tower is made where the top most person breaks the pot with the help of a coconut.
This is to celebrate the mischievous side of Lord Krishna who would steal buttermilk from his neighbors with the help of his friends in a same fashion :P I like deities who act humanly crazy !
Have I been a part of this ? a zillion times when I was a kid but that was hardly 3-4 levels . But these massive ones are strictly meant for well trained people , hence , DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS !
