England is enjoying an unprecedented period of warm weather for April, the countryside draped in the beautiful, fresh, acid-greens of spring – which every watercolourist knows is made not by mixing a blue with a yellow, but lamp black and cadmium yellow pale. The wonderful weather is marred only by a thin haze as car and industrial pollution builds up.
